Hello jorgea,

As we understand, you are having issues updating the driver for your Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260. In this case, we advise to remove the Software from Windows* Control Panel - Programs and Features, then try to uninstall Intel® PROSet/Wireless Software.

If this is not possible, there may be a problem with the driver, or the registry. In this case, you can try using the Microsoft* Install/Uninstall Troubleshooter, another user was able to resolve a similar issue using this Microsoft* tool in the following thread:

If the issue persists, please let us know the following information:

- Was this the adapter that came built from factory with your PC?

- Have there been any OS or system changes/updates that may be related to this?

- Computer model and operating system version.

- Which driver version are you trying to install, and where did you download it from?

Regards,

Jonathan.

Hello Jonathan,

I Can´t try to apply your recomendation yet.

I have some doubts. My computer is a Lenovo Thinkpad Carbon Touch x1, it was originaly with windows 8.1, I have updated it to Windows 10.

The driver I tryed to install was provided by Lenovo, I have tryed with drives from Intel, and the result is the same.

Do you think, your recomendations still works in this scenario?

Thanks

Regards

Jorgea

Hello jorgea,

The Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 is fully compatible with Windows® 10. We always recommend to use the drivers and software provided by the http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/topics/OEMs.html Computer Manufacturer Support; so, if Lenovo has a Windows® 10 driver, that would be the best option to download. However, if you have any issues, you can also try the generic version of https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26465/Intel-PROSet-Wireless-Software-and-Drivers-for-Windows-10?product=75439 Intel® PROSet/Wireless Software and Drivers for Windows® 10 [19.20.3] from Intel Download Center.

The process to remove programs is practically identical in the different Windows* versions, and even the Microsoft* troubleshooter tool applies to Windows 10 as well, so the recommendations are valid for your system.

Regards,

Jonathan.
