HI there,
I don't know much about computers and I have bought my son Sims4 for the PC. Now that we have fixed the origin/EA log in problem, it now tells me that the Video Card does not meet the requirements.
I have an Intel Q35 express chipset family. I have downloaded the intel driver update utility which has scanned the PC and recommended update 10.1.1.14 but when I try to install this it says unknown error. Please can someone help me to install this. On the back of the game it says the video must be 128mb of video ram and support for pixel shader 3.0.
Beginning to wish I had not bought this game!
Kind regards
Abi

1) get the right chipset driver here:
http://ark.intel.com/products/31918/Intel-82Q35-Graphics-and-Memory-Controller# @downloads Intel® 82Q35 Graphics and Memory Controller Specifications
2) go to http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/graphics-drivers/000005524.html Supported APIs and Features for Intel® Graphics Drivers and unfold "Older Graphics Products" , there it says that your Q35 has no pixel shader support

Hello abster,
The answer that Stefan provided is accurate, the drivers provided would work with the OS' that are compatible, and the shader model 3.0 is not available with the Intel® 82Q35 Graphics Controller (yours)
For that reason, the system you own does not meet the minimum requirement to work with this game.
