You can only use processors that are socket, BIOS, and chipset compatible.

You need to contact the manufacturer of your laptop and ask them which processors are compatible with THEIR BIOS.

Then, you can select from those processors.

Now it's impossible to contact with laptop manufacturer.

So I want to have list of processors according to Intel data.

Which one of these processors do you have?

http://ark.intel.com/compare/29733,33100 ARK | Compare Intel® Products

I suspect this is your processor: http://ark.intel.com/products/29733/Intel-Celeron-M-Processor-530-1M-Cache-1_73-GHz-533-MHz-FSB-Socket-M Intel® Celeron® M Processor 530 (1M Cache, 1.73 GHz, 533 MHz FSB) Socket M Specifications

You will notice that it can use socket PPGA478 or PBGA479.

If it uses PPGA478, then here is a list of processors that use that socket:

http://ark.intel.com/Search/Advanced?s=t&SocketsSupported=PPGA478 ARK | Processor Feature Filter There are 199 processors from which to choose. However, it is extremely unlikely that your laptop manufacturer has support for all of those in their bios. This is why you need to contact the manufacturer. That, or take your chances, which could possibly damage your laptop.

If it uses PBGA479, then you have these processors: http://ark.intel.com/Search/Advanced?s=t&SocketsSupported=PBGA479 ARK | Processor Feature Filter

HOWEVER, there is nothing you can do as your processor is soldered to the motherboard.

According to the processor label (SLA2G) - it is

Intel® Celeron® Processor 530

(1M Cache, 1.73 GHz, 533 MHz FSB) Socket P

According to http://ark.intel.com/products/33100/Intel-Celeron-Processor-530-1M-Cache-1_73-GHz-533-MHz-FSB-Socket-P Intel® Celeron® Processor 530 (1M Cache, 1.73 GHz, 533 MHz FSB) Socket P Specifications

sockets will be PGA478, PPGA478

But label at the socket is - mPGA479M

Program CPU-Z show that type of socket is mPGA479M

So I can't identify socket

Then, feel free to use the http://ark.intel.com/Search/Advanced?s=t ARK | Processor Feature Filter , selecting the parameters you want until you satisfy yourself.

Still, I caution you on proceeding without knowing what processors your bios supports.

Hello felis_83 ,

I totally support the answers provided by Al.

Even if the socket is the same, the BIOS has to support it as well, this information is not available from our side since the OEM is the one that integrated/designed the laptop, for that reason is why we recommend contacting them directly to find what CPUs could work.

Hope you understand

Regards,
