- Make sure you have the latest available BIOS installed.
- Make sure that you don't have Bluetooth disabled in the BIOS.
- Reinstall the driver yet again, but this time, uninstall then reboot then install.
IMHO, IDUU is a mess and not worth using.

In searching for others with similar issues, I came across the crazy suggestion of powering down the NUC, unplugging power and allowing it to cool.
Upon restarting the NUC it seems the Bluetooth Board, stack and drivers have made friends again.
