Some new information:
Tried an installation with Windows 7 Pro (Sp1).
Same result after graphic cards driver (184.108.40.206) was installed.
Could you please provide the last four digits of the driver you mentioned? Please go to Device Manger> Display adapters> Intel(R) HD Graphics right click on Properties and then go to Driver, you will be able to see the version installed.
The last four digits are 4501
Thank you for the information.
I have just installed the driver version .4501 in one of our units Intel® NUC Kit NUC6i5SYH Specifications running Windows® 10, but the behavior was not there. Is there any chance you can test a different driver version? Perhaps, this version Download Intel® Graphics Driver [15.45].
Installed now the driver you mentioned on Windows 7 Pro.
With the .4501 version I had about 10-30 seconds in Windows (7 and 10) before the freeze.
Now the system instantly freezes in the welcome screen.
This is a strange behavior, could you please try with an older driver version? Maybe this one Download Intel® Graphics Driver for Windows® 10 and Windows 7*/8.1* [15.40].
Try using a integrity tool to check the status your SSD. This one might be useful Installing Intel® SSD Toolbox.
By any change can you test the Intel® NUC Kit with a different SSD?
The older Version just improved the system in that way, that I have about 30 seconds before freezing at every boot.
Checked the SSD with Samsung magician and SSDlife. Both say excellent health. The Intel SSD Toolbox seems not to work fully with Samsung SSDs.
So I think the only possible solution is to open an RMA for the Nuc?
Edit: I don't have a 2nd M.2 SSD to test.
Problem is now solved: the Nuc has been replaced by a new one. Everything works fine now.
Hint for german customers:
Only use the phone to get a RMA number.
The warranty system on the website let's create you a warranty claim. But this is immediatly transferred to a service request and absolutely nothing happens for days. Then I used the chat for getting a RMA number. The person I chatted with promised that I will get a solution in one workday. Nothing happened...
Last try was the phone. No waiting time, very friendly persons. Ok RMA number didn't work, because I got no picking number from DHL. Next number then worked.
This is what I have been saying all along. Intel has call centers all over the world that folks can use (and avoid time zone issues). It should be your first choice, not your last. Use them people!
// english: I was asking him, if the problem really was solved by replacing the units, and what date of manufacture his NUCS have.
yes as mentioned above, no problems at all anymore with my replaced nuc.
Old Nuc from 12/2015
New Nuc from 09/2016
