    Intel Nuc6i5SYK freezes

    Jokba

      Hello at all,

after having several Problems with Windows 10 updates which resultet in a freeze during the update process, I now decided to do a clean install.

The installation worked (Windows 10 Pro 1607).

      But my problems started soon.

After reading that the driver installation tool seems to be crap, I tried to install the most recent drivers from the Intel page.

      Here my specs:

      • Intel Nuc6i5SYK (manufactured in 12/2015)
      • 16GB (2x8GB) Kingston HyperX Impact DDR4 SO-DIMM 2133MHz PC4-17000 Kit
      • Samsung 850 EVO Series M.2 2280 SSD - 250GB
      • Logitech wireless mouse and keyboard (MK 320 bundle)

      Bios: Version 0054

Installation of the latest chipset driver (10.1.1.38), Rapid storage driver (15.2.0.102) and Management-Engine-Driver (11.0.6.119) worked well.

But after installing the latest graphics driver (15.40.28.4) the system freezes during installation or installs and freezes after the necessary reboot of windows.

To prevent Windows 10 from installing non valid drivers, the nuc had no internet connection during the whole process (including Windows installation).

Does anyone have a clue what could be the reason?

Is my unit broken? In the beginning of 2016 there had been a lot units with overvoltage I read.

      Best regards

      Johannes
