Intel C220 operating at Sata2 speeds.

    pgdm

Hello, so for over a month I have been struggling with this one. If i install the last driver for my ATA controller (14.8) I lost the Sata3 performance. Yep, just like that.
I returned my first SSD to the store and received a brandnew one. New windows 10 install, and the problem persists.
      System SPECS:
      Z87 Stinger EVGA
      i5 - 4690

      2x4 GB Corsair @ 1600mhz.
      GTX 770 video card.

          Hello pgdm:

Did you try a BIOS update to the latest version on the board? On the following link you will be able to get the file to do it, it is version 1.09:

          http://www.evga.com/support/download/

Did you try to install the latest version of all the drivers?

This could be a hardware problem with the board itself, as an option you can always try to get in contact with EVGA support directly or visit their forums:

            Yes, I tried.
How it is a problem with the board if the driver from intel is causing the issue?
SSD + Windows driver on the controller = SATA3 speeds but a few warnings on sys log, also some unstability.
SSD + Intel driver = SATA2 speeds and 0 warnings.
HDD + Intel driver OR Win Driver = SATA3 speeds always.
Trust me, Im tired of this "anomaly" but it is not EVGA's fault this time.
Also tried A LOT of BIOS settings = same result.
Also contacted Samsung, and I returned my original unit and got a new one = same result.

You see, the only thing that is 'static' here is the Intel driver.

                      Hello pgdm:

Thank you very much once again for providing all those details.

At this point since you already tried the BIOS update, the next thing to do will be to get in contact with Samsung to verify if there is a firmware update available for the SSD.

Besides that we recommend to test it with different SATA cable just to rule out a possible problem with it, or at this point to replace the board will be another option to consider.

                        You know what is weird?

I talked with EVGA, they told me that this is not their problem. (Reasonable, after all, it is not a BIOS or HARDWARE malfunction).
I talked with Samsung and returned my first SSD to the store, and then guess what? "It's the intel firmware!" (Reasonable, because with standard windows drivers I got normal speeds.)
After 2 months, I created this post, and now Im in a dead end?

And yes, I bought and tested 4 new cables (from diff sources) expecting a miracle that obviously never ocurred...

Come on Alberto, I really need a solution on this!

I have sys infos for this SSD + ASUS Maximus IV Gene-Z (Z68, no problem whatsoever ) and I can test it on a X99 based system.
Also if you want any more information just ask. I have also Windows and Linux (Manjaro) running here...

Thanks for the answer Alberto, I really hope to see some solution and not just words like many other companies out there...
