Thank you for contacting us and attaching the diagram. The diagram looks to be good. The connections to the mini breakout board (J21, J19-2, J18-13 and J19-8) are correct and within the proper parameters. The power applied looks fine as well. One thing you want to check in the circuit is that the Tx of the sensor goes to the Rx of the Edison and the Rx of the sensor to the Tx of the Edison. This is not a direct connection since the converter is in the middle but check the signal received by the Edison is the correct one.
Now, how are you testing the UART connection? Could you provide more information?
I’ll be waiting for your response.
Thank you for your response, Your response very helpful for me, today after received your answer, To check UART connection, first I checked module converter ( i using blink led example, i connect pin13 (J18-1) to port A of converter and waiting 5V at port B) but signal at port B not like i expect. Now i think my problem is the converter! I wonder if you have another way to communicate between sensor and Edison mini breakout board or use another module convert? If you have solution, Please help me!
I’ll be waiting for your response. Thank you.
What do you think is the problem with the converter: that its functionality is not the one you need or the IC is damaged? If you have a sensor that communicates through UART then you can communicate with the Edison using this UART sensor, the detail is that you have to make sure that the method you use to go from 5 to 1.8V doesn’t affect the data going to the Edison.
There are several links with UART examples you can see, take a look at:

I currently are still researching the issue, but I will try to solve soon. Your last post is very useful for me.
