6700K running unbelievably slow

Just installed a 6700K and everything from applications to browsing is at a crawl. I've already run the Driver Update Utility and it says there aren't any updates which is odd. I also ran the Processor Diagnostic tool and it said it passed. During the test the CPU was at 100% usage but if I try running a game and check Task Manager it isn't even close to 4.0GHz. I've checked that my BIOS are up to date and my GPU is certainly up to date as well. I don't really know what else to try. Even typing this out is taking forever, my keystrokes are basically catching up to me by the time I've finished a sentence.

Hello TylerThompson93,

Thank you for joining the Intel Communities.

It would be really useful for us to have the Intel SSU report from your system in order to get more detailed information about your system in order to assist you as Ronin was saying.

Additionally, please let us know if something besides changing the CPU affected the systems performance.

Something else that you can do is to run a system check, this is to find possible bad files within Windows*.

In case you have issues providing us with the SSU report, here some instructions:

-Access: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25293/Intel-System-Support-Utility https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25293/Intel-System-Support-Utility

-Download the utility

-Scan your system with the utility

-Export the report (hit next and then save) and attach it to your answer with the advanced editor option (reply button and then check upper right corner)

Please let me know how it goes.

Regards,

Esteban C.
