I purchased an Intel X-25-M 80 GB SSD 2 weeks ago from Newegg.com
I downloaded the Intel Toolbox and the firmware update. However, when I try to update, I get an error message that says I have "pre-production firmware", version 0956, and that I should contact Intel support.
I have read on multiple websites that this pre-production problem has lead to numerous, and very serious, hardware problems. I spent a week installing and setting up my computer, and I would be very disappointed if there wasn't an appropriate fix.
Can someone help with a solution?
If you can't upgrade the firmware, I'd return it to Newegg for replacement.
