    Problems with touchscreen after intel(R) 1.9.0.1021 installed

      I have been using the touch screen on my hp envy 17 laptop successfully for several years. On October 3 my touch screen stopped working. After I checked my control panel I saw that

      Intel (R) Technology Access 1.9.0.1021 had been installed. I see in my control panel that I have earlier versions of Intel (R) Technology Access installed. Can I uninstall the Intel (r) from October 3 without causing ill effects. I am using windows 8.1 and now my machine thinks that it shouldn't have pen and touch screen according to device manager.

          -Download the utility
          -Scan your system with the utility
          -Export the report (hit next and then save) and attach it to your answer with the advanced editor option (reply button and then check upper right corner)


          If you are not able to attach the report to your answer, please copy and paste the "Summary" section of the report in your answer.

                Thank you very much for the information provided.


                I was checking your laptop manufacturer support page and no drivers for touchscreen are available.


                Intel HD Graphics drivers are not related with touchcscreen features either (the generic drivers from our Download center).


                For that reason, I would like to recommend contacting HP to find the touchscreen drivers/fix for this scenario.

                        My machine did an update without me requesting one. It installed Intel(R) 1.9,0,1021 again today. Now my touch screen works but my internet doesn't The machine doesn't seem to know it has a wifi port. Just like it didn't know it had a touch screen before.

                        My loss of internet was directly after the update was installed.

                         

                        Is there some type of automatic intel updater I need to turn off?

                            I work for Intel Customer Support and I can tell you that we don’t have any automatic software update system but you may want to check if your system is running any software update utility from the manufacturer (HP*).

                             

                            On the other hand, I did some research and found the following community information that I believe could be very applicable to your concern: PROBLEMS with the Intel(R) Technology Access v. 1.4.4.1000

                             

                            I would also like to let you know that this application is no longer being supported by Intel, this means that Intel no longer provides email, chat or phone support for this product, community support among community members is of course Okay.

                            I would recommend that you contact you system manufacturer, they may be able to provide better orientation on how to address this concern.
