Hello,

I've got problem with my graphic driver.

I have i5-4210U processor with HD Graphics 4400 (and any graphics card more). When I switch external display via VGA (DP), it blinks. It blinks more often when it display 'something fast' - film, move a window or scrolling website. When display is connected via HDMI, there aren't any problems. This issue is only on Windows 10 64bit. There aren't any problem on windows 8.1 and on ubuntu live. I have installed the newest driver (https://downloadcenter.intel.com/product/81016/Intel-Core-i5-4210U-Processor-3M-Cache-up-to-2-70-GHz- Downloads for Intel® Core™ i5-4210U Processor (3M Cache, up to 2.70 GHz) - 15.40).

Can anybody help me?

Thanks

Hello MichalCebulski ,

Thank you for joining the Intel Communities!

First, I would like to gather up some information from your system, there is a utility that can do this for you.

How to get that report?

-Access: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25293/Intel-System-Support-Utility https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25293/Intel-System-Support-Utility

-Download the utility

-Scan your system with the utility

-Export the report (hit next and then save) and attach it to your answer with the advanced editor option (reply button and then check upper right corner)

If you are not able to attach the file with our advanced editor (while answering the thread), please copy and paste the "summary" section of the report in your answer.

Additionally, have you tested this with other displays (monitor/TV) as well as cables (other VGA cables), also, please make sure to use straight connections, no adapters to get the best possible signal transmition between devices?

Hope I can hear from you.

Regards,

Thank you for answer. It seems to me that I added file from ISSU, but I add it and some others informations (DxDiag, Intel Processor Utility...) once again.

I'm sure that my cable and monitor are OK, I've tested it with other computers and I've connected my computter to few displays with few cables.

MichalCebulski ,

Awesome, I was able to verify what I needed, thanks for the info!

I saw that you have a previously-released driver for your Intel HD Graphics 4400, please update it with the drivers provided below.

Drivers 4501: http://intel.ly/2cFYOzr http://intel.ly/2cFYOzr

In case you have issues installing the driver, please follow the steps noted here (make sure you disconnect the device from the internet): http://intel.ly/1PdmvLd http://intel.ly/1PdmvLd

Have you reached out Lenovo for this matter? They could provide device-specific troubleshooting steps to you

Please let me know how it goes with the 4501 drivers.

I've upgrated drivers. Step by step, without Internet access. Is it the correct driver on the screen?

This solution didn't help me. Lenovo doesn't help me too - when I get them my laptop on guarantee, they wrote 'There isn't any issue with hardware. Software isn't in guarantee agreement.', When I asked for online help and described my problem, they wrote 'Your system isn't default on your laptop (Default is win 8.1), we aren't able to help you'.

Maybe problem is not in graphic driver, but where?

Hi MichalCebulski,

Thanks for the answer! That installation went through just fine (4501 is properly installed).

There are some things we can check to assist you with this issue.

At BIOS level, do you have the option to change the memory used for graphics? Intel boards have this option as "IGD minimum memory" (may be different in your system). This is noted under video settings.

Now, have you tested the system with a different display that has VGA?

Additionally, what is the model of the external display you are using?

Hope I can hear from you

Hello,

thank you for trying help.

In my BIOS I haven't got advanced functions (The model is InsydeH20 Setup Utility Rev 3.7) - no way to check and change graphic memory.

The model of display is LCD BENQ FP7 and projector VIVITEC. It works OK with others computers and my computer with WIN 8.1 or UBUNTU.

I have no idea! It should work!

Regards, Michael

MichalCebulski,

Thanks for the answer.

You mentioned this was tested with other computers, do they have an Intel CPU as well? If they do, are they using the same graphics drivers (4501)?

If they are working with the same graphics drivers (4501) we could say there is a problem with the CPU.

Additionally, have you tested the system with "previously released" drivers?

These drivers can be found on the download page: http://intel.ly/2cFYOzr http://intel.ly/2cFYOzr

Under "Other Versions"

Please give it a try with some of them and let me know.

Thanks for answer and patience.

I don't have other computer with Intel CPU at home, so I can't check display as you reccomend me.

Yes, I had tested others, previously drivers before I wrote my first post . (Link to 15.40.18.4380 version not work, so I didn't check it.)

Hello MichalCebulski ,

Thank you for the answer provided!

Do you have other displays with VGA connection? I believe we haven't checked if the problem follows the port in your device.

The drivers: Beta 15.40.xx.4539 were just released and are compatible with Intel HD Graphics 4400

Please give them a try and let us know how it went to proceed accordingly

Here the download link: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26347/Intel-Beta-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-10-and-Windows-7-8-1-15-40 https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26347/Intel-Beta-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-10-and-Windows-7-8-1-15-40-

If you have issues installing the drivers, please follow instructions here: http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/graphics-drivers/000005629.html http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/graphics-drivers/000005629.html

It is recommended to manually install the drivers when the device is completely disconnected from the Internet.

Hope I can hear from you soon.

Hello,

thank you for the answer.

Yes, I have other displays (for example monitor SAMSUNG). My issue is on all diferent monitors with different cables. Other computers work ok with these displays.

I have disconnected from Internet, uninstaled driver and installed 15.40.xx.4539 driver and it haven't solved my problem. It seems to be better (blinking is not so often like earlier, but I can't watch film or do other things).

Are you able to help me?

Hello MichalCebulski,

Thank you for the answer!

Have you tested this with the default drivers from Microsoft?

You can get the after uninstalling the current drivers and rebooting your PC.

Please make sure you select the checkmark "Delete the driver software for this device" as in the screenshot below.

If the problem is still present, I would be positive the issue is the port on your device (the problem follows the port and not drivers, cables, or the displays, which have been tested)

Hope I can hear from you.

Hello, thank you!

I have disconnected from Internet and uninstall driver - the issue is still present. I have return to win 8.1 via Onekey Recovery (without connecting Internet), and the issue is still present. I don't know why I hadn't seen this issue earlier in win 8.1. So, I think the problem is in my port - It must be fixed on guarantee by Lenovo. I'm really sorry for my not good checking problem...

Thank you for your help - Intel, you are very helpful, seriously

Michael.
