1. Please check that the HD properly inserted into receptacle. Remove it and insert again.
2. SATA in BIOS must be enabled.

Me:: You're right that could be an issue, but having already inserted another SSD which did work, I think I got this bit right.

Me:: The Samsung SSD works so I think this is covered.

I would say this is a compatibility problem with the Sandisk drive.
