Tell us more about the beeps? One long and 3 short?
Are the connectors to the boards from the power supply known good?
thanks for your help, to me sounds like eider 4 long beeps or 4 short beeps, they all sound the same.
like beeeep beeeep beeeep beeeep.
i forgot to mention ,after the beeps cpu fan stops then starts all over again.
power supply is good ,even tried a new one.
Now beep codes aside i have a question for you..
You hit the power button, the fans kick on, it does the POST and produces 4 Beeps....
When the case fans shut off, does the motherboard it self shut off? as in any on board LEDS?
After the cpu fan stops and start over again, does it attempt to re-power on? Like it's stuck in a boot loop after the push of a power button.
On my system i am trouble shooting to see what is wrong. I cant power it on. In my case, when i hit the power button, the case fan clicks on for 1 full revolution the QCode LED lights up and then shuts down completely. Won't even stay on long enough to start the POST process...
I was investigating about this but I need to collect some information.
Was this processor working before?
Were these motherboards working with a second generation processor?
Do you know what the BIOS version they are using is?
Let’s do this test, in case you can update the bios please use this version for this processor:
ASUS* P8H67-M LX / BIOS 1701
GIGABYTE* GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3 / BIOS F12
Also, for the MSI* board this processor is not on the compatible list.
With 3 different boards, and a good power supply, and the same behavior on all three boards, I would have to say the processor could be bad.
Did the processor ever work, on any other board? from where did you acquire the processor?
+1 I would say your CPU is defective with 3 motherboard changes.
It’s important to mention that before setting this statement, we need to verify the system compatibility BIOS, RAM and others to corroborate if the main issue is or not the processor.
Did you try setting everything to default? Also try one stick of memory at a time.
