intel remote invisible pointer and windows is giving me a code 52 error

i just installed the remote keyboard app and immediately noticed that the pointer disappeared when I unplugged my physical mouse. the Intel forums have had me try the following none of which has worked

      A. reinstalling the  software on both devices

      B. rebooting my pc after removing hardware mouse

at this point I considered the possibility that maybe the problem was with my pc so I began troubleshooting the problem as a windows error. while I was going through the device manager I discovered a virtual usb host controller manufactured by intel that was spitting out an error code 52 (Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device. A recent hardware or software change might have installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or that might be malicious software from an unknown source.) now it could be a coincidence that this error is occurring concurrently with the invisible pointer and have absolutely nothing to do with one another, however I find this very unlikely. any assistance you could give me would be appreciated.
