Intel HD Graphics 530 does not recognize HDMI monitor

I have the following desktop system

Gigabyte B150-D2H motherboard with version F6 BIOS

Intel i5-6500 @ 3.2 GHz (Skylake)

Intel HD Graphics 530 driver version 20.19.15.4474

Microsoft Windows 10 (10.0.10586 Build 10586)

I have an HDMI cable connected to a Panasonic Viera ST60.

The 530 does not see the HDMI monitor at all. I updated the 530 driver but that did nothing.

Any suggestions?

Hi,

Verify that the TV is set to the appropriate Input mode as HDMI. Some TV's have multiple HDMI connections, so make sure you are using the correct one that corresponds to the port the cable is connected to.

If you are attempting to connect to a TV that supports 1080p, 4K, 3D or Deep Color, you will need to use a High Speed HDMI Cable.

Make sure you are using HDMI to HDMI video cables. Do not use video adapters since this will limit certain graphics features through the video cable.

The TV is set to the appropriate input. I have a high speed HDMI to HDMI video cable; no video adapters. I used to have the TV using the same cable connected to another computer and it worked at 1080p.

I uninstalled the Intel Display Audio and Intel HD 530 driver and let them re-install but it made no difference.

Thank you for you feedback, that's unfortunate. I have noticed your current Windows version, I see you have the November update.

I would recommend updating to the latest Windows® update, this is the Anniversary version, please check the link below for further information:

I am now running Microsoft Windows 10 (10.0.14393 Build 14393)

No change. The desktop computer still does not see the HDMI TV.

(I have an AOC monitor connected to the desktop computer via DVI. I tried disconnecting that but it made no difference.)

Thank you for the information.

What happens if you uninstall any Intel® graphics driver from windows control panel?

Are you able to see HDMI connection with generic Microsoft* drivers?

After testing generic Microsoft* drivers, please make sure you are loading the latest Intel video drivers here:

I uninstalled the Intel® graphics driver. At that point, Microsoft* Basic Display Driver 10.0.14393.0 was running.

No HDMI monitor was detectable.

Upon reboot, Windows reinstalled Intel® graphics driver version 20.19.15.4463.

No HDMI monitor was detectable.

I then updated the graphics driver via the control panel. At this point Intel® graphics driver version 20.19.15.4474 was installed.

This is the version I indicated in my original post and is the latest driver pointed to by the link in your previous reply.

No HDMI monitor was detectable.

Thanks for your continuing help with this issue!

Thank you for the information.

It seems to be an issue with the HDMI port of the computer. I would recommend contacting your motherboard manufacturer for warranty options:

Thanks for asking. My reply is no, not yet. I've reproduced their first reply below. I got that on Sept. 2. I replied the same day that I am using a direct connection and that there is video out of the DVI connection. I have not heard back since.

Dear customer,

Are you using direct HDMI cable connection or over an adapter ? Does DVI and VGA has signal out ?Please do attempt to check and troubleshoot with procedure below:

1) Make sure the 24 pin ATX and other 8 pin 12v power both are connected to mother board.

2) Disconnect all drive cable, remove all memory, take CMOS battery out for a minute clear bios connect monitor to integrated graphic on MB back panel, test boot system with single stick memory on slot 1 ( slot close to 24 pin ATX connector).

3) Swap out other stick memory on same slot test again if board still not able to boot.

4) Try other DVI / VGA out connection check if system has signal out to monitor.

Best regards,

GIGABYTE technical support team.
