SED Encryption w BIOS / ATA Password on *any* PCIe SSD?

Has anyone been able to enable an ATA Password in the BIOS for *ANY* PCIe (NVMe or AHCI) based Self Encrypting Drive (SED)?

I know it won't currently work with the Samsung 950 Pro, but does with my Intel M.2 SATA SSD in my NUC6i7KYK.

Has anyone got it working with one of the OEM or other non-SATA drives?

Am I right in thinking this support is probably universal across all NUC models, and not specific to my NUC6i7KYK?

      Much Thanks!
