Well i've been testing my cpu by playing some games. I played Witcher 3, Need for Speed (2015) and Crysis 3. I was playing everything on ultra/max settings but at 1366x768 resolution cause of my monitor. I haven't used Vsync.

My rig is a: i7 6700k,

Titan HATI (CPU Cooler),

Asus Z170 Pro Gaming,

R9 390x,

XFX XTR 750W PSU,

1 TB HDD.

Also, i have 2 intake case fans and 2 exaust case fans.

My temps while playing were:

Witcher 3: max 64, avg 55

Crysis 3: max 69, avg 60-64

Need for speed: max 65, avg 55-57

Then i tested it with Heavy Load for 5 minutes. At 100% the avg temp was 58.

Hello Gabrieltkd95:

Thank you very much for the information provided above.

Based on that, actually the temperatures are pretty good, the fact that it gets up to 58°C on heavy load is really good.

This processor could reach 64°C or higher inside the case and that is normal and expected, as you can confirm on the following link:

http://ark.intel.com/products/88195/Intel-Core-i7-6700K-Processor-8M-Cache-up-to-4_20-GHz?q=Intel%C2%AE%20Core%E2%84%A2%20i7-6700K%20Processor%20(8M%20Cache,%20up%20to%204.20%20GHz) http://ark.intel.com/products/88195/Intel-Core-i7-6700K-Processor-8M-Cache-up-to-4_20-GHz?q=Intel%C2%AE%20Core%E2%84%A2%20i7-6700K%20Processor%20(8M%20Cache,%20up%20to%204.20%20GHz)

When the processor gets overheated, the first symptoms are that the PC will start freezing and throttling, and then if it gets really overheated like reaching temperatures of 90°C or 95°C, the PC will go off by itself, so, if none of that happened, then there is no problem and the processor should be fine.

We do have a tool that does an overall test on the processor, including a temperature test, so, if it passed that test, then is because is working fine, since this is a very reliable tool:

Second option to the left to install it:

Any questions, please let me know.

Sorry, it's me again. I don't want to seem crazy but did run again the tests, just to be sure. Just like the last time i played these three games (this time for something like 10 minutes). Also, tested the CPU with HeavyLoad for exactly 10 mins. This time i have the maximum usage of the CPU, hope this helps.

CPU: idle=24

100%(using HeavyLoad)=57(avg)

Need for Speed:

CPU: max=65, avg=60, max usage=80%

Witcher 3:

CPU: max=64, avg=56, max usage=69%

Crysis 3:

CPU: max=74, avg=65, max usage=84%

Hello Gabrieltkd95:

Thank you very much for providing the details above.

No problem at all, we are here to help.

Based on that information, the temperatures seem to be normal, if they are not reaching 90 or 95 the processor will be fine, and if the PC is not throttling or getting freeze then it is working properly.

Also, as an option depending on the case you are using, you can always add another fan, in case you think the temperatures are high, and if you are not overclocking the processor it will fine.

Any questions, please let me know.
