max. Festplattengröße mit Intel Rapid-Storage-Technik im RAID1 - RIAD Option ROM (Version 10.0.0.1046)

Hallo,

an meinem DELL XPS 8300 (BJ 2010) ist eine der beiden Platten im RAID0 defekt. Die Rettung wichtiger Daten war sehr aufwendig.

Ich möchte nun mit zwei neuen Platten und mit einem RAID1 solchen Problemen vorbeugen.

Beim Versuch 2x 3TB Platten einzubauchen werden diese zwar vom BIOS (V: A06 letzte verfügbare) mit 3000.5GB richtig erkannt, das RAID - Option ROM (Version 10.0.0.1046) erkennt diese aber nur mit 746.5GB.

Welche Festplattengröße kann ich max. an den vorhanden RST-System (H67-Chipsatz des Dell Motherboards Y2MRG ) angeschlossen werden? <2TB?

Wie kann ein Update des RAID - Option ROM durchfühen? Die Version v12.9.0.1001 soll lt. "en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intel_Matrix_RAID# Matrix_Storage_Manager_option_ROM" die"Last version to support PCH 6 series" sein? Kann das nur über ein Bios-Update erfolgen?

Es wäre sehr schade, wenn man das Bord (und dann ggf. noch mehr) wechseln müsste. Die Systemleistung ist (bzw. war) vollkommen o.k. für den Anwendungsfall und es entstehen sonst nur Kosten und Müll.

There is a 2TB size limitation. If you enable UEFI this limitation could be bypassed but if there is no UEFI at all, this might be expected.

The maximum size limitation for your chipset controller is 256 TB.

The option ROM can only be updated by a BIOS update and the BIOS update must specify that the ROM is going to be updated.
