Intel HD 4400 does not support 1920x1200 resolution if monitor not connected (uses PC by Radmin)

I disconnect my monitor SyncMaster 2433bw from MB Asus H81M-K and reload OS (Win 7 x64). When i login to remote PC by Radmin i see that resolution is changed to 1920x1080. In desktop settings and advanced adapter settings i have only 1920x1080 and 2048x1152 resolutions. What can i do to use native monitor resolution (1920x1200) without physical connection to Intel HD. Drivers updated by Intel Driver Update Utility.

Hello Undland:

In regard to your inquiry, remember that the resolutions that will be available are the ones that are available on the monitor connected to the PC that you are accessing, so, if the monitor on the PC that you are accessing remotely does not have (1920x1200)\, you will not be able to use that resolution.

I check the native resolution on the monitor and as you mentioned above it is 1920 x 1200, also I checked the motherboard specifications and it is the same, it supports the same resolution, on the following links you will be able to confirm that information:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824001309 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824001309

https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/H81MK/specifications/ https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/H81MK/specifications/

The fact that you have the option to use 1920x1080 and 2048x1152 resolutions, indicates that the application is not recognizing the monitor properly or it is recognizing a different monitor.

Any questions, please let me know.

Hello Undland:

Let me apologize if I misunderstood the information you gave us before.

Just to make sure, you are accessing the Asus H81M-K remotely from another PC?

If that is not correct, could you please provide a detailed description of the components that are being used?

Any questions, please let me know.

Hello Undland:

Thank you.

I downloaded the tool:

https://www.radmin.com/ https://www.radmin.com/

I replicate the scenario, and if you access a PC that does not have a monitor connected, what the tool does is to create a virtual monitor, and the tool itself assigns the resolutions to it.

In order to check on that, you can get into the graphics control panel, then select "displays" and where it says "select displays" normally in there you should be able to see the model of the monitor, but in this case you should see "virtual monitor", if that is the case, then the resolution will be provided by the tool itself.

Any questions, please let me know.

Hello Undland:

I am sorry, but I do not understand the information on the screen shot.

Could you please explain the information in it, in order to find out if you are also getting a virtual monitor?

Any questions, please let me know.

There are (in the graphics control panel) no virtual or any other kind monitor.

I tryed to change register key ActiveSize.cy from 1080 to 1200 at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\GraphicsDrivers\Configuration\SIMULATED_8086_041E_00000000_00020000_1010100^B8B41BA22AF9D0BB56033D83D596E284\00\00. But after reload it returns to 1080 value.

Hello Undland:

Thank you very much for providing those updates.

Since you are using Intel® HD Graphics 4400 controller, let me give you the latest graphics driver for it, which is 4463:

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26079/Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-10-15-40-4th-Gen-?product=81497 https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26079/Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-10-15-40-4th-Gen-?product=81497

Also, to try a BIOS update on the board will be helpful, on the following link you will find the option to do a BIOS update on the board, and to install the latest graphics driver provided by ASUS, which is the one that says VGA:

https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/H81MK/HelpDesk_Download/ https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/H81MK/HelpDesk_Download/

When we tested the same configuration that you have, we did get a Virtual Monitor, in this case, even though there are no monitors showing in the Intel® graphics control panel, the scenario is the same, the tool itself will provide the resolutions that are available under the configuration that you are using, the tool itself automatically shows different resolutions for you to choose.

Any questions, please let me know.
