    ctan94x_intel

      Question

Using dev-hub the opencv package is not listed. How to add this package? Please provide steps if it can be added from dev-hub or it requires a new image to be created? or we need to change the git hub path?

      Answer

Intel repository does not provide openCV package. Follow instructions from below to install and build it from sources.

        git clone https://github.com/Itseez/opencv.git

        cd opencv/

        mkdir release

        cd release/

        cmake -D CMAKE_BUILD_TYPE=RELEASE -D CMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=/usr/local ..

        make

        make install

There are some other prerequisites for working with the openCV. You need to install also:

      - libidn

      - cmake

Execute following steps to install libidn:

        mkdir libidn

        cd libidn/

        wget -d ftp://alpha.gnu.org/pub/gnu/libidn/libidn-1.9.tar.gz

        tar xfz libidn-1.9.tar.gz

        cd libidn-1.9

        ./configure

        make

        make install

        export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$LD_LIBRARY_PATH:/usr/local/lib

Execute following steps to install cmake:

         mkdir cmake

         cd cmake/

         wget https://cmake.org/files/v3.4/cmake-3.4.1-Linux-x86_64.tar.gz

         tar -xvf cmake-3.4.1-Linux-x86_64.tar.gz

         export PATH=$PATH:~/cmake/cmake-3.4.1-Linux-x86_64/bin/

I recommend that you use the Intel Atom processor for work with openCV, not the Intel Quark.
