My Intel HD 3000 makes serious driver errors, and the dedicated Nvidea can't run

The dedicated Nvidea gpu is never used, no matter how demanding the games I run. The Nvidea control panel says the Physx is the onboard for when the laptop screen is used, and shows a VGA-port on the dedicated for when an external screen is connected. Now i've tried an external screen. and it's still the onboard that runs it. I've even tried in device management, to deactivate the onboard intel, with the result that the a basic display driver takes over. I've tried everything. What can I do? Can I edit some program/add code to a .txt or something. Please advice.

It appears that you are currently running a switchable graphics computer.

There are some laptops where you can control the graphics controller included on the computer, this is possible via software through Windows® or BIOS settings. Please bear in mind that this feature is only enabled by the computer manufacturer and the graphics drivers available on the Intel download center are not compatible for switchable computers. I would recommend checking for a hardware switch or an icon in the Windows taskbar, also, BIOS settings.
