Can I just pull up FAULT and drop the current limiter out of Edison?

Hi there, I am going to use Edison in my design and I use the Edison for Arduino board as the design reference

I know that we won't have a current limit issue on the USB port since it is used internally, so I would like to save by dropping MIC2039 from the schematic and pull FAULT line high all the time to tell Edison there is no problem on the USB power

It should be OK if Edison doesn't rely on some timing to probe the FAULT line

Can anyone give me a firm answer if I can "pull up FAULT and drop the current limiter out of Edison"?

      Thanks!
