No HDMI output on NUC6i7KYK after waking from suspend/sleep???

I'm disappointed in Intel that after spending $1000 to get this computer running, I discover this bug and come here to see that many have asked similar questions but there doesn't seem to be much in the way of answers. Could anyone tell me please how to resolve this issue, so that after waking up from suspend the monitor receives a signal and resumes the display?

My monitor is a Vizio E221VA bought in late 2012, and the HDMI cable says "High Speed HDMI Cable" but beyond that, I do not know whether the cable or monitor are HDMI 2, or even whether or not that matters and is the cause of the bug. My OS is Ubuntu.

What is causing this issue? OS? Driver? Cable? Monitor?

      Thanks for any help.

Edit: I've tried two "High Speed HDMI Cable"s from different manufacturers and believe this issue is not related to a faulty cable.
