In order to run a BASH script (.sh) file at startup before the login prompt:

1.) Insert your script in /etc/rc.local, line before exit 0.

In order to run a BASH script (.sh) file at startup after the login prompt:

      1.) Create a new profile.d directory in /etc/

            mkdir -p /etc/profile.d/

2.) Place your bash script in /etc/profile.d

3.) The script should be executed after the login prompt.
