I have a Lenovo M57 series Model 6075-W8X with a E6750 2.66mhz processor on a lga775 socket. Does anyone know if I can put a Core 2 Quad which also has the lga775 package in place of it? Newer more capable quad processor in place of a bit older Duo Processor. Not looking to replace my entire board and processor totally do to some a shortage of cash, But open to any suggestions that any one may have.

The chances are you probably can, what you need to do is find out definately by contacting either lenovo or the motherboard manufacturer, or seeing if anyone else has used a C2Q in there m57.

saying that i have had a quick look and there was at least 2 with a q6600 in it, so should work fine, just incase though do some research first!
