    RAID 0 Drive Size Issues

    vladoftrin

I have a 320 GB hard drives in my computer and recently added a second 500 GB drive which I used Intel Matrix Storage console 6.0 to configure the drives to use RAID 0. The problem is that after migrating the drives to use the RAID 0 my computer does not report the extra capacity of the other drive. Is this normal? or will I only have use of the one drive capacity now??? If I go through Matrix manager is says the correct total capacity but if I right click my "C" drive and go to properties it shows only one of the drives capacity not both and the "D" drive no longer exists.

I had the Intel Matrix Storage Console complete a System Report and got the following information back:

Under Array_0000 it shows the combined size of approximately 600 GB but free space is shown as 0 GB and no active migrations.

Windows 7 shows C: drive but size is shown as 288 GB??

      Any help will be appreciated.

What you have been is RAID 0 one of your ST3320620AS and WDC WD5000AAKS-40YGA1 the other ST3320620AS is your OS and not part of a RAID.

With ST3320620AS and WDC WD5000AAKS-40YGA1 done in RAID 0 the max space will only be double that of the ST3320620AS and so Size: 596.1 GB
