NUC6i5SYK - Linux Mint 17.3 - does not shutdown properly

I purchased a NUC6i5SYK about a month ago. All works fine except that I can't shutdown properly. The blue led light remains on, and it'll only shutdown completely if I press the On/Off button for +5 seconds or if I unplug the power cable.

I've read similar threads on this topic, but none provided a definitive answer. So I'm trying again :-)

      - NUC6i5SYK

      - Samsung 250gb 850 Evo M.2 SSD

      - Crucial 8gb DDR4 2133Mhz So-Dimm Memory Module

      - Linux Mint 17.3 Cinnamon  (kernel 4.2)

      - Bios 00.28

I had kernel 3.19 and 4.4 before, but each were giving specific issues (no wifi and graphics flickering/tearing respectively). Kernel 4.2 is the most stable I've found.

I'm apprehensive of updating the Bios to 00.36 as I've read this didn't help other users with the same problem. I'm afraid this might create other problems for me.

So I'm starting to wonder if the problem could be related to the SSD or RAM module?

      Are these supported by NUC6i5SYK?

Do I require other updated drivers maybe?

      Thanks in advance!
