Muchas gracias.

Good Morning.

I have a laptop with Intel HD Graphics 3000 (hd graphics family) 1808MB and 1680x1050. With a Duo Core i5-2450M 2.5GHz processor.

I've updated the laptop in windows7 to Windows10.

Then, laptop screen is not visible (it is in black) and only the auxiliary screen is seen.

Is there a driver for this video in Windows10? Where?.

Thank you very much.

Hello Carlos:

The thing about laptops is that most of the times the manufacturer builds them to work with an specific version of Windows®, and all the components and features on it were installed to work with that specific version, most of the laptops are not customizable or upgradable, so if you do a Windows® upgrade some problems might be expected.

Did you check with the manufacturer of the laptop before doing the upgrade?

What is the model of the laptop?

The Intel® i5-2450M uses Intel® HD Graphics 3000, so maybe you can use the auxiliary screen to install the latest driver that you will find on the following link:

That might help; the other option will be then to check directly with the manufacturer of the laptop for further assistance or warranty support.

Hello Carlos:

I just wanted to add that the driver I gave you above, it was an option to try, in order to fix this problem, because actually that driver doesn't belong to the processor your are using.

When you use a second generation processor like the one you have with Windows® 10, the driver in that case will be provided by a windows® update and it will be an inbox driver not generic.

So, you can always verify this information directly with Microsoft, in order to get that driver, and for warranty you can always contact the laptop manufacturer.

Microsoft phone number; 1 800-642-7676

Microsoft support site: https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb

I hope the information on this thread was helpful for you, and now the problem with the laptop having a black screen was resolved.

Any questions, please let me know.

Alberto
