Hello Klas,

In order to further assist you with your inquiry, we need to get the configuration information of the PC that you are using.

So, please install the SSU tool (System Support Utility), so I can get that information.

You will be able to download it on the following link:

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25293/Intel-System-Support-Utility https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25293/Intel-System-Support-Utility

Once you do that, the tool will allow you to save the information as a file, so, once you save it, please attach it to this thread.

Alberto

Hi KlasBell ,

On my I7 6700k that video is very smooth. I don't have a 4k monitor but on my monitor is ok.Try to use this video player: http://www.videohelp.com/software/PotPlayer PotPlayer 1.6.60136 / 1.6.61097 Beta - Download

Thanks for trying but you need a 4k monitor, I can play the clip fine with the best player MPC-HC with the monitor set to 1920x1080, but at 3840x2160 it starts stuttering, the higher res on the monitor the more stutter, like it dont enough have power to render full frames per second

I don't know how well optimized is MPC-HC to use hardware decoding. Pot Player uses only 4-5% CPU in H/W mode when playing that video.

To me Pot Player uses 100% CPU when playing the clip in standard settings, are there any settings I need to change?

Hello Klas:

I will try to gather all the components available in our lab, to try to build a PC similar as the one you have, with the same type of graphics version of your processor which is: Intel® HD Graphics 4600 and also a 4K monitor.

I will play the video and once I do that, I will update the thread with the results.

Also, I will try to download the Pot Player to let you know about the settings.

You should have on the left of controls a S/W. if you click on it it goes on hardware mode, if your cpu has hardware decoder for that movie.

To activate DXVA hardware acceleration go to preferences // Filter Control // Video Decoder // Built in Codec/DXVA Settings. Enable DXVA and on all codecs set VLD, and on DXVA2 Copy Back: Disable

I did all the new setting and CPU usage did go down to 20-25% but the clip is still stuttering, MPC-HC works a little better but only slightly

Alberto!

Can you try both Pot Player and MPC-HC player!

For me they are working both the same 4-5% CPU usage, only that on HPC-HC if I jump forward or backward the image locks and goes out of sync ...

frame rate should improve if you change this MPC player setting. options/playback/output/ then change directshow video to "overlay mixer renderer"

I don't have problems with framerate. Problems is when I move with mouse on time frame, back and forward.

Hello Klas:

Sure, I will try to play the video using both Pot Player and MPC-HC Player, as soon as I do that, I will update the thread with the results.

Ronin!

what is the highest resolution your monitor can do? if you had a 4k monitor you would probably been able to play the clip without stutter I assume, your graphic is more powerful then mine 4600

Alberto!

Try changeing the settings in MPC-HC as described above

I don't have any stuttering and the movie is playing in overscan mode, that means that player resolution is in 4k, but reduced by the renderer to fit on the screen. The problem is with the time bar. When I jump on the time bar to from 0:10 min to 0:30 it takes like 10 second to resume play, This is not happening in PotPlayer.

Overlay works the same as overlay enhanced renderer. And with the last intel driver MPC-HC, doesn't know to use hardware codec, it goes all on processor and occupies like 30-60% all the time ...

I don't like MPC-HC because it is to complicated to set up codecs to work with it.

PotPlayer works out of the box with any codec you want and is easy to configure.

Yes is 60fps 10bit, and on my pc works ok, only that on PotPlayer occupies less CPU.

Hello Klas:

Thank you to everybody for all the feedback provided on this thread.

We are still currently working on this case.

Could you please provide the information about your system using the SSU tool, so, we can try to get the closest system configuration based on yours.
