Hi Intel,

Nothing's broke here, but I have a suggestion:

Imho, the Intel Processor Identification Utility needs a couple additions. The utility download is here:

It should identify: CMPXCHG16b, PrefetchW and LAHF/SAHF.

I recently had a Windows 8.1 installation that would just reboot loop after about a minute. That was due to the Intel Prescott 630 not supporting CMPXCHG16b. This was not a problem is Windows 8.0, but is for Windows 8.1 (ditto Windows 10).

Just a thought . . .

Regards . . .

Those would certainly not be bad additions, especially CMPXCHG16b, also in my opinion.

Do you know of any utility that can identify CMPXCHG16b?
