We have a design for an 82572EI to connect it to an onboard switch device, but we want to confirm how to connect the controller to the switch. Do we need RC networks on easch differential pair? Do we need to put magnetics inbetween the controller and switch (even though they are a couple of inches of PCB apart)? We have been unable to find any guidance from the switch manufacturer or (so far) in the 82572ei documentation.
Any assistance would be gratefully received.
