Hi,
Sorry if this is a silly question but I have no understanding of this stuff. My son wants to buy the processor above. He has a asus p5k pro motherboard. Can this processor go on that board?

I do not see this processor in the list of supported processors for the motherboard you provided:

The board supports socket 775 and the processor requires socket 1150:

You would do best by selecting a processor from the asus supported processors list.
