Not sure if this is the right place for this, but I'm out of hair to pull out figuring this out. I updated the bios in some older Dell computers (Optiplex 980). The bios update was successful, but now before the windows loads "PXE-E05: The LAN adapter's NVM configuration is corrupted or has not been initialized. The Boot Agent cannot continue." Followed by "Nic Error" Now the bios and Windows don't even see the adapter. I've tried:
Re-flashing the bios
Flashing to the previous version of the bios
Resetting the CMOS
Restoring Bios to default
changing the boot order to just the HDD
And I'm still stumped, any help you can give would be greatly appreciated.
This type of issue should be handled by Dell support. You can get some assistance by checking their community area: http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/
As a recommendation, you could try accesing the BIOS and disable Boot to LAN. Check with your computer manufacturer for information about this feature.
