I hope you can have a better experience with the unit once you get a replacement.
I am having this exact same issue now. I was transferring a few files from the internal hard drive to an external when the screen went blank. I pressed the power button on the NUC and the screen reappeared. A few moments later the screen went blank again and I have not been able to get any response from the unit since. I have checked the ram, hard-drive, and flopper drive, and they all seem to be working ok.
I cant get past turning the unit on, getting a 1 second long blue light, then a few seconds later a quick flash of the blue light, then a few seconds later again the blue light is constant. I attempted to use headphones and did not hear any beeps. I tried disconnecting the battery and clearing the jumper, nothing changes.
Turn it on and just get a blank screen. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, I have had this thing for literally a month!
I would suggest to request an RMA, I spend many hours and could not resolve the issue... The unit died most likely due to the BIOS firmware...
Got my new unit yesterday - updated BIOS to v44, installed SSD and memory and its alive again. Only downside was that I had to reactivate my Windows and Office software but it went smooth so far so good! Happiness!!!
