Hello, I plan on getting an I5 4690K, I've searched around for a while and I was suggested the Z87 or the Z97 according to this article:
http://innoreviews.com/motherboard/best-motherboard-for-i5-4690k/ http://innoreviews.com/motherboard/best-motherboard-for-i5-4690k/
However they are kind of expensive since I'm already going to spend a lot on the unlocked version of this CPU, is there no cheaper board that can also overclock this CPU?

This is your processor:
http://ark.intel.com/products/80811/Intel-Core-i5-4690K-Processor-6M-Cache-up-to-3_90-GHz Intel® Core™ i5-4690K Processor (6M Cache, up to 3.90 GHz) Specifications
There are many boards to choose from. Only you can define the features needed when selecting a motherboard.
Whatever board you choose, it must support socket FCLGA1150, and the BIOS for that board must support the i5-4690K.
Since the i5-4690K is a Haswell refresh processor, you need to make certain the board is at the proper BIOS level before installing the processor.

Hi,
Thanks Al Hill, also Steeljardas Intel does not support coverclocking processors; but if you are going to overclock your processor, I would suggest you get a Tuning protection Plan before.
