NUC6i5SYH freezes randomly with OpenSuSE Leap 42.1 - SOLVED

Hi all, I just bought a NUC6i5SYH and I'm seeing random freezes. I'm using 32GB of DD4 ram and a 1TB HD. I'm running OpenSuSE 42.1, fully updated. The freezes do appear to be random and are not tied to the load that the NUC is under. It is a true freeze, requiring either a long press and hold of the power button or an unplugging to resolve.

      I've tried the usual suspects:

-Booted to CLI mode in Linux. Sitting at the terminal doing nothing, it still freezes.

-Ran Memtest86+ 5.01, all good there

      -Updated the BIOS to 0042

      -Changed various BIOS settings including:

--Increased the agressiveness of the cooling to "cool" from "balanced"

      --Disabled speed step

--Turned off the round trip latency setting for the RAM

Any ideas of what I should try next?
