NUC5i5RYK: Video cable needs to be plugged out and in after each power up for video signal to be sent

I have a NUC 5i5RYK and an HP Pavilion 23XIG monitor connected via a high speed HDMI cable and a high speed DP to HDMI adaptor (see here on Amazon).

Each time the NUC is powered up, I need to unplug the video cable and plug it in again for the monitor to receive a signal.

      Further information:

      • Memory: HyperX Impact HX316LS9IBK2/8 ram 8GB 1600MHz DDR3L CL9 SODIMM (Kit de 2) 1,35V. (Amazon)
      • SSD: Transcend MTS400 M.2 SSD 128GB SATA III, MLC. (Amazon)
      • Windows 10.
      • I have installed the latest BIOS and drivers.
      • If I just restart the NUC via Windows, I have no problem.
      • If I hit F2 to launch the bios setup after a power off, unplugging and plugging back in does not help. I can only reach the BIOS setup after restarting via Windows.
      • I set the monitor to search for a signal (rather than defaulting to HDMI) and it clearly searches its various inputs and finds no signal.
      • Why a mini DP to HDMI cable? Because I previously bought a (cheap) mini-HDMI to HDMI cable and it could only drive a TV, not a monitor.

      Any thoughts appreciated!

      Thank you,
