The datasheet of Atom E38xx specifies 64bit DDR3. Since my design has an issue on upper bytes, I wonder if I can configure Atom to run in 32bit DDR to check out the hardware. Intel BCT has option to set different configuration but not work. The datasheet says the frequency setting doesn't affect the actual clock but it doesn't mention about the DDR data width.

I got the confirm from Intel, Atom e3800 only supports 64bit DDR bus.

That is correct, 64 bit support only.
