As you mentioned, the Intel® Centrino® Wireless-N 1030 is not supported with Windows® 10. This is noted in the document: Intel® Wireless Products Supported Operating Systems for Wireless.
We cannot guarantee that the adapter will work normally or be detected by the OS, since it was not designed to work in this configuration.
But if it is not supported by Windows 10 it should not work at all, correct? So, how come it works about 75% of the time for me? Is it because it is not designed to be compatible it works unpredictably?
And in this case how can I fix it? Is there some other driver or program I can install to make it work better?
