We have a problem concerning RAID 1 hard drive systems.
The 2 hard drives were configured in a RAID 1 configuration, using Intel Matrix RAID software. The hard drives were setup with 2 partitions. The 1st partition is the system/boot drive with Windows XP Pro on it, and the 2nd partition is the data partition.
We now have a directive to eliminate all RAID systems. It has been determined that although a RAID system has certain advantages, overall it creates more problems than it sovlves. Whether or not that is true is not the issue.
My problem now is that I have to convert all the RAID systems to IDE. We don't have to use the same drives, in fact we are not going to use the same drives. We do have to keep everything asit is right now though. The data especiallly, must remain exactly as it is, or it us useless to us.
If you have any ideas for doing this, it would be greatly appreciated.
