Installed driver a higher version than 'latest'?

I just checked for driver updates for my Asus laptop that is running Windows 10 (64 bit) using the Intel Driver Update Utility. But i dont understand the results. They show that two of the three installed drivers have a higher version number than the listed 'latest' version. How can that be? I'm attaching a screenshot of the listing from the utility.

Hello, mshcah:

Thank you for contacting the Intel Communities.

While using OEM systems like yours, the recommendation is to download and install the drivers from your computer's manufacturer website.

This is to avoid losing any special features or settings while using the generic drivers from Intel®.

In this case, the best way to go would be to access https://www.asus.com/us/support/ Support Center | ASUS USA and type the model of your unit and check the driver available there.

If you require any further information or support, do not hesitate to contact us back.

Regards,

Esteban C

Hi

Thanks for following up. I have the latest drivers from ASUS. I'm still mystified that these appear to have higher version numbers than available on the Intel website. But I guess that's not a problem.

Hello, mshcah:

Thank you for your answer on this.

As long as they are working properly, it shouldn't be a problem for sure.

Additionally, while using OEM systems like yours, the recommendation is to use the drivers provided by the OEM, for any possible special feature or settings that could be available only with their drivers.

If any additional questions or inquiries are present, feel free to contact us back.

Regards,
