4 Series Desktop AMT Board - DQ45CB & DQ45EK

Hi there,

I have two motherboards DQ45EK and DQ45CB. Both of them supports AMT (VPro).
I have the latest bios from the website (updated through recovery mode).

When the system boots up, there is the Management Engine Bios Extension (MBEx) by pressing Ctrl + P to enter the setup.

Ctrl + P Options:
============
Main Menu

Intel (R) ME Configuration
Intel (R) AMT Configuration
Change ME Password
Exit

According to the manual on the Intel Website, these above options must be available.

But unfortunately on my two motherboards, I dont have the Intel (R) AMT Configuration to configure the provisioning & ip address etc.

Am i missing something? Can you please help me?

Regards,

Aryan

    Hi there,

Actually the default password for AMT is admin.

If it is not working, turn off the system.

Switch the BIOS jumper to Maintenance Mode (Configuration)

    Reset the AMT to defaults.

Then put back the jumper to its normal default position.

    Use admin as password

And change the password to a stronger one like P@ssw0rd

    Regards,

I have this same board, and found out that the default password is admin. however, the Management Engine will not accept any of hte new passwords i try - no matter the length or the combination of letters, numbers and special characters.

it will let me write it once, but when I type t again for confirmation, it is rejected.

Pls advise on how to proceed.

    Thanks in advance

I also fast the same problem.

I type admin and it accept. Then the system ask for enter name password and then verify password. I already enter any combination I can think of but it always show the password is reject by ME. Please advice me as my cpu stall at 1000 rpm only and cannot go any further.

    Thank you.

DQ45EK new out of the box, default settings. Set to IDE, but the Matrix Storage Technology, keeps prompting crtl-i to enter configuration (I did reset bios). Since I was unable to disable AMT,  I reset AMT, reposition jumper, hit crtl-i, and enter the password admin, and any new password is rejected. Now I did this before  bios upgrade and after. I am very disappointed that these motherboards are not quality checked before they hit the retailers shelves.

I have arrived arrived  at wits end!

    Will be requesting RMA

The new password has to be complex, upercase, lowercase, numeric, min 8 chars and contain a non alphanumeric symbol.

I tried it and it works ex.  Ab123456!

Yes, the complex password does the trick here. eg. P@ssw0rd
