DG43GT stopped working after BIOS update!

I have a DG43GT motherboard with E6300 Pentium Dual Core processor. After completing the update from 0024 to the latest BIOS version 0027, my system is now completely useless! After turning the power on, the system starts and just stays on for 3 seconds, beep once and turns off, then starts again and stays on for just 3 seconds. this whole process repeat itself endlessly until I plug the power cable out. The BIOS recovery mode is also keeps restarting the system though after about 30 seconds. There is no display at all during all this restart cycling.

I have tried to clear the CMOS but that does not solve the problem at all!

Have the sane board and just experienced the exact same problem.  System starts, then powers off and restarts ~4 sec later.  No video displayed.  This was following a bios update from 019 to 027.  Attempts to use the bios recovery procedure have not fixed the problem.  Any ideas?

I have opened up a case with Intel regarding this issue. But they were not able to suggest a fix for this problem. I have to send this board back to the retailer! One point that Intel support guy mentioned was a possible problem with the CPU. I think this is very unlikely that a BIOS update would eat up the CPU but was unable to verify my point as I dont have access to another Socket 775 board. Can you please cross test your CPU with any other MB if possible for you?

Can't test with a different CPU sorry.  Have already arranged for this to be returned.

I am also facing the same problem with my system. Is it problem with motherboad or any thing else...? Is your problem resolved? Please let me know more details.

                    Hi there,

I am having the same issue after going from Rev 24 to 28.

Any update on what support suggested to do?

I have the exactly problem after upgrade to rev 28, the motherboard just keep rebooting every 30sec!  Tried all possible "tricks".

Please share solution iff you have one !!

                      Thank you in advance.

Has anyone tried flashing it to a earlier BIOS (like maybe ver. 0024) using the recovery method?

                        • 9. Re: DG43GT stopped working after BIOS update!

I did. Tried using recovery method on a CD and USB flash drive. It would act like the recovery was running. The flash drive was blinking, then it would stop > reboot > and start over again.  After resetting the jumper back the system was still stuck in the reboot loop with no changes.

                            Hi there,

Here is the suggestion I got from Intel Customer Support.  Unfortunately for me, I have already tried removing the battery and let it sit out for several hours.  Thought I would share it anyway just in case someone else has better luck.

We understand you are having problems with no POST after a BIOS recovery update on the Intel(R) Desktop Board DG43GT.

                            Please follow the next recommendations:

                            1. Unplug the power cord, remove all non-basic components, connect the power cord back in and try to boot up the system.

                            2. If the problem continues, then, remove the RTC (Real Time Clock) battery and leave it overnight. After this period of time, insert the battery back in and turn the system back on; if it displays POST messages, go into BIOS Setup Utility by pressing <F2> during the boot process. Once in the BIOS setup utility, press <F9> to restore BIOS default settings. Reset any customized BIOS settings. Clear all DMI event logs, which are located in the Advanced/Event Log Configuration section of the BIOS Setup utility. Press <F10> to save the new settings and reboot the system.

                              Hello Guys,

Following is my experience with this board in few lines. I hope this will be helpful for other people dealing with DG43GT  motherboard.

I have wasted countless hours with Intel Support both through Live Chat and via e-mail and tried almost every fix they suggested to fix this issue but failed! I have tried methods to flash the BIOS (usb, CDROM eg) and also tried to downgrade the board to the older BIOS but could not fix this issue. The Intel Support has finally suggested to take the board to the retailer under normal warranty. After about a month of sending this board under warrenty, last week my retailer finally confirmed that this board is beyond repair and offered me to send a replacement or refund. I have obviously selected a refund to finally end this worst experience of my life with a motherboard.

OK, I am going to give it a try.

I just took out the battery (CR2032) and disconnected from the main power, I am going to leave it alone till this weekend, so it will be at least 72 hours without any power.

I will update this thread once done.    But actually, I don't have a lot of +ve hope!!  B-||

                                Stay Tune.

                                  Hey there,

I let support know that I had tried their suggestions and they emailed back and said that I will need to return the board under warranty.  So if it's a new purchase, you will return it to your retailer or place of purchase.  If it's over 30 days since your purchase, you will need to contact support for an RMA number.  I have been building computers for 8 years and have never had a bios so buggy before, but I guess it can happen.  Later.

                                  • 14. Re: DG43GT stopped working after BIOS update!

I took out the button battery for 2 weeks, with power cord disconnected.

I put back the little button battery on the motherboard and connect to power for reboot.  As expected, the booting proceess is the same, boot-reset-boot-reset.... endless!!

I am not going to do a RMA considering the shipping cost and looks like I am going to "dump" this board and get another ASUS or GiGabyte P45 one!!    B-((

pls share if you have any success again.
