For a driver to stop working with an error message sounds like a virus.
I would recommend a full virus scan with a good AntiVirus software (McAfee, Norton, Microsoft) and then a reboot.
If issue still presists, go to the support page for your mother board and down load teh latest Intel Storage Driver and re-install it. (It is possiable that some MS update proke a driver on your system) http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&ProdId=816&DwnldID=8177&ProductFamily=Chipsets&ProductLine=Chipset+Software&ProductProduct=Intel%c2%ae+Chipset+Software+Installation+Utility&lang=eng
A disk check (SCANDISK or CHKDSK) would also be a good idea since I have read 1 report of HDD errors being reported this way before the HDD fails.
