According to the specifications of the board, it supports a DC input voltage of 5 - 20 V (https://ark.intel.com/products/97178/Intel-Aero-Compute-Board). So it sounds from the 5-20V DC requirement that power goes into what's known as a BEC (battery eliminator circuit) in the RC world. This implies the whole vehicle is powered up, including ESCs. Probably not a huge issue but be sure to take off those props before mucking around in tethered mode! I learned that lesson the hard way on my first drone several years ago.
I have a RTF drone instead of just the compute board, but I'm looking for wall plug-ins that would let me work on applications on the compute board without having to charge the batteries constantly.
