The INF Update Utility does not seem to install because your computer and operating system (OS)already have the latest INF supported by your chipset controller and OS version.
This does not happen if you were installing the operating system from scratch and then install the latest INF Update Utility.

As noted in these threads:
As indicated, you may need to install .42 from an elevated cmd window with the following line (no quotes): "c:\setupfolder\setupfile.exe -overall "
I had a similar problem and had not installed the Windows pushed .38 INF package; which has it's own story. This work-around did the trick for me; even though the driver date stamps are 1/1/1970

Hi Allan, regarding this thread: Re: Intel® Driver Update Utility doesn't show ava...
I opened it NOT because the upgrade problem that was solved in this thread, but because the application doesn't show that the new driver is available, I discovered the new 10.1.1.42 because I manually look for the driver but other people that aren't capable of this will not know a new version is available if they use "Intel Update Utility". Do you know what I mean now?
Thanks for support.
