Why do I have to unplug and re-plug the power cord every day?

I have the ComputeStick installed on a Samsung plasma TV. Whenever I turn on the TV and change the TV's input to HDMI2 to reach the ComputeStick, all I see is static. I have to physically unplug and re-plug the power cable from the ComputeStick to force it to reboot. I don't know if this is caused by something the TV is doing when it is turned off. It would really be nice if the ComputeStick simply maintained a steady state even when the TV is turned off - just like the Google Chromecast device (HDMI1) does with the TV. When I turn the TV on, Chromecast is immediately available - no unplugging required. I have updated all of the drivers, btw. Thanks in advance for your advice!
