At this time there is only one version of Intel® Rapid Start Technology software available for direct download, you may also try using the Intel® Driver Update Utility from Intel® Download Center or checking the system manufacturer’s website to see if they offer a different version.
I believe it is possible to hide the icon using the Windows* Taskbar Properties ("Customize" option) to hide the icons in the system tray.
Thank you for the response. The Driver Update Utility did not pick up the Rapid Start or Rapid Storage programs. I know that the version installed is the most recent available, I was just hoping that there was a driver-only version that could run in the background. With the tray icon I was really looking to hide it completely like every other program, not just have it in the little submenu. If that isn't possible, oh well.
