60. Re: Latest HD 4000 drivers cannot be used for live TV (HD)
Mike Nov 7, 2012 9:10 AM (in response to ricreis)What sort of flickering are you talking about? Is it still the 50hz issue, or just a general subtle flicker during any TV program? There was some setting I turned off in the Intel control panel like "skin tone optimization" or something along those lines that made the latter go away.

61. Re: Latest HD 4000 drivers cannot be used for live TV (HD)
ricreis Nov 7, 2012 10:12 AM (in response to Mike)It's the latter, because I've never noticed any flicker with video (other than live TV).
I did try to see if I could fix it by disconnecting any setting remotely related to video, but nothing worked. That includes the skin tone optimization thing.

63. Re: Latest HD 4000 drivers cannot be used for live TV (HD)
Matt Nov 11, 2012 1:41 PM (in response to yamcenutzer)Hmm Interesting... Just discovered this forum discussion!
I've been playing around trying resolve this Live TV issue for weeks now with no great success. The only way I've managed to fix the glitches on channel change (in Win8 Media Center on both HD & SD channels) is to disable Microsoft Video Decoder and use LAV codecs (with Shark007 codec application)... but that creates other issues like no fast forward and rewind function.
Either way, it's good to see that this problem has been acknowledged by Intel and a fix (hopefully) is on the way!

yamcenutzer Nov 23, 2012 4:42 PM (in response to Matt)Another 4 weeks have passed since the last 'please wait' response from Intel, so I guess I'll ask again:
Intel, is this still in the works or has it been abandoned?
This, and the fact that 23p support has been omitted for the DH77EB (but actually is available on other series 7 boards) makes it really hard to use it for media centric applications.

70. Re: Latest HD 4000 drivers cannot be used for live TV (HD)
MrEv Dec 1, 2012 6:53 PM (in response to yamcenutzer)Hi yamcenutzer -
The recording was of DVB-T transmission. Example 1 is a transition from 1080i50 to 1080i50; 2 is from 1080i50 to 576i50; 3 is from 576i50 to 576i50. I think it's entirely H.264, although the SD channels might be MPEG2.
I'm looking forward to these fabled new drivers. Intel really need to get this sorted.

We have posted a test driver for this issue. Please provide your feedback and results with the driver.

MrEv Dec 3, 2012 1:05 PM (in response to Robert_U)Hi Robert -
Thanks very much for posting these drivers.
Unfortunately they're not quite there. On my machine (Windows 8 x64; Core i5 3570K / HD 4000; DH77EB motherboard) at least, transitioning from 1080i to 576i seems to be perfect now, as does 576i to 576i, but 1080i to 1080i is the same as before (see video a couple of posts up).
If you'd like me to run any tests or want any further information from me, I'd be happy to oblige.

74. Re: Latest HD 4000 drivers cannot be used for live TV (HD)
yamcenutzer Dec 3, 2012 3:07 PM (in response to Robert_U)Hi Robert,
A first test I did on 2 machines (ASUS P8Z77-V and DH77EB) shows that live-TV HD doesn't show the switch/resize/skip issues anymore. That is good! The '42s bug' is in fact gone. There still is some short distortion/pixelation when switching between channels, esp. SD/HD, but that is something different, I guess.
However, I do notice that overall picture quality has, let me put it this way, _changed_. I'll have to do more comparative tests with old/new and SB chips to find out if the quality change is for the worse or just 'different' and I need to get used to it or use other settings in the control panel.
I'll get back with more results after the next weekend.
@ -ddd- AFAIK and IMHO the 23p issue is a BIOS/ME related thing only for the DH77EB board and that issue is being discussed, if at all, in that thread.
If, however, you're looking for 'perfekt' 23p, well that isn't going to happen it seems, it won't get better than 23.973 on this platform, so it looks.
