I'm using an Intel Core i7-2600K CPU 3.40 GHz. In my 64 bit Windows 7 Pro Device Manager, I've got a bunch of warning messages.
Each of the processors' General [Device Status] is "A driver (service) for this device has been disabled. An alternate driver may be providing this functionality. (Code 32)".
I've searched online for an updated driver, but always the message "The best driver software for your device is already installed".
The computer seems to be working ok. But I'm wondering if something's not right.
I'm not sure if this is related or not, but I've got a USB Mass Storage Device that won't start frequently. When I run the Microsoft FixIt for the problem, Microsoft FixIt says the processor is not right (I've lost that message right now).
This behavior that you are describing seems to be operating system related, so if the Intel® Processor Identification Utility and the processor diagnostic tool do not report any issue, a clean installation of the operating system would be a good idea.
I have the same problems, however I have run both tools and everything comes out fine with no errors. I am not having an operational issue with my desktop, I just see the same picture as the user who started the question, when I open my device manager and select the cpu.
